Physician Health and Wellness

In 2016, IOPA sponsored a 3 day CME conference retreat for physicians.  We have since held numerous one day workshops.

Physicians met with leading researchers and clinicians from around the world to explore cutting edge research and innovative approaches to physician health and well being.  Our speakers included:

Dr. Colin West, Professor of Medicine, Medical Education, and Biostatistics at Mayo Clinic

Dr. Michael Krasner, Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry

Dr. Joan Halifax, Medical Anthropologist, Director of the Project on Being with Dying, and Founder of the Upaya Prison Project and Nomads Clinic in Nepal

In response to interest from physicians attending our Rediscovering Meaning In Our Work conference, physicians have organized a monthly physician discussion group in Boise.

Physicians meet to discuss some of the issues that they are facing in medicine, explore opportunities to practice medicine in a way that is meaningful and strengthen the physician community.

The details are listed on the calendar on this website:
